Escapade to Australia!!!

Wednesday, May 4

Past few days...

I was bogged down by flatulence last Friday... And it lasted till this very moment but I am feeling much better now. I have already finished Chee Meng's charcoal pills... Thank you, Chee Meng! He has been a very nice person and even kept breakfast for me and passed me his herbal tea when I am sick. Attempted to visit the doctor on saturday with my OSHC card but the lady at the counter advised me that the card can't be used for a weekend and furthermore they are fully booked for the day already.... It seemed that everything have to be booked in Australia... (even for my haircut!)

Headed for Buddha Festival down the South Bank on Sunday night... Yea, alone...haha... the rest have went Sydney and they just came back last night. It was pretty funny to see bands performing for the festival in a make-shift stage along South Bank... There were lots of red lanterns, food stalls and numerous rides for kids; it is more of a "Chinese New Year" kind of atmosphere than Buddha Festival (Oh, they called it Buddha Festival and not Vesak Day here). In addition, there were also exhibits, a pool where water spewing out from the mouth of a couple of golden dragron hitting a buddha figurine in the middle of the pool. The main ceremony was in the Pizziana where people engaged in the "Buddha Bathing" ceremony and made donations... The highlight of the day was the Fireworks performance along Brisbane River bank...=) I thought it was quite comical to see the lightings on the elongated boat (the one that the fireworks was released from) showing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDHA" at the end of the show... I wonder if Buddha would be asked to make as wish too... =) Headed back home after getting a free hot drink from the Conrad casino... (everyone can be a basic member and you will be entitled to 2 free drinks everyday!!!) I got lost while trying to find the Central station for train as the no more buses return to Indooroopilly after 9pm... Missed the train; waited for 35 minutes and spent the time understanding how to draw sequence diagrams (for my software process module's assignment)...

Things really slowed down a lot these few days when I am alone... I have thought about a few matters, packed my room... basically reorientating my mind to relook again at what I want in life again... Are there things that need to be changed or improved? Are there new goals that need to be set, be it short or long term. Are any of my past goals redundant now? It was a fruitful session; I love to spend these moments with myself and be frank with myself... It is the most intimate relationship one can have with oneself...

Yesterday was a busy day in school as I need to run around a few places... Christine is really getting on our nerves for our software process assignment (together with Mark and Courtney)... I shan't comment here... But Christine, if you do see this post... you should know that you have not been preaching what you have said... So much for a master student...

I have made a pact with myself: I will live and maximise each day fully after I recover... Do the stuff I wanted to... Visit the places I wanted to... Every second of the trip here is worth remembering and savouring... The friendships and contacts made here is invaluable... This experience of this phase of my life shall affect me positively into my future phases of my life... =)

Ryan, are you ready to make the commitment?

Yes, I do...

Okie... first thing now is to carry on with my software process assignment and run off to school to met mark and Courtney for the final merging of the document for the deadline at 5PM later... =)

Ciaoz...
